"No matter how many doors I
knock on, people still continue to surprise me," says Justin, a
veteran canvasser who has recently been promoted as our regional field
director in the Cleveland office.
"If you connect
with people on a personal level, and remind them that they have the
power to change things, people want to get involved. And we ask them
to do a lot - make phone calls, write letters, record video
messages... Each conversation is unique - I'm constantly surprised at
people's hospitality and willingness to get involved."
In rain, snow, and
sunshine, Justin has sparked over 10,000 conversations about Ohio's
future. What is he most proud of? The fact that he has trained over 80
organizers while working with Ohio Citizen Action.
