Britt on supporting Trump nominees, DOGE: ‘They want us to shake up business
as usual’
<[link removed]>
U.S. Senator Katie Britt called into Alabama Morning News with JT Nysewander
to discuss the cabinet confirmation process and the Department of Government
Efficiency (DOGE). Britt on Thursday met with President Trump’s designated
nominee to serve as Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
“I am supporting Pete and his nomination,” Britt confirmed to JT.
Alabama’s junior U.S. Senator explained that “[President Trump] ‘is saying, I
want people in here that are willing to execute the vision that I laid before
the American people.’ The American people heard what Donald Trump wanted to do.
They know he wants to cut waste. They know he wants to get things back to where
they should be.”

Sen. Britt’s bill updating next generation body armor passes
<[link removed]>
U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Ala., the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security
Appropriations Subcommittee, and Senator Gary Peters , D-Mich., the Chairman of
the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, on Wednesday
announced their DHS Better Ballistic Body Armor Act passed the Senate by
unanimous consent. This bipartisan bill would require all agencies under DHS to
provide improved ballistic body armor to appropriately fit both male and female
law enforcement officers.
“The brave law enforcement personnel at the Department of Homeland Security
need equipment that keeps them safe and ensures they can return home to their
families every night. Unfortunately, their current body armor sometimes misses
the mark—requiring some officers to wear equipment that does not provide the
full protection they deserve,” said Senator Britt. “With the passage of the DHS
Better Ballistic Body Armor Act, we are ensuring every man and woman in the
line of duty has the best equipment necessary to protect them. I am thankful
for the unanimous passage of our legislation, and I look forward to seeing this
bill pass the House and ultimately be signed into law.”

‘Self-serving slap in the face’: US Sen. Britt releases statement after
President Biden pardons son Hunter
<[link removed]>
United States Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released a statement after
President Joe Biden pardoned his son Robert Hunter Biden Sunday night.
President Biden previously announced he would not pardon his son or commute
his sentence after Hunter Biden’s convictions in two cases in Delaware and
California involving felony gun and federal tax charges.
The president’s pardon not only includes Hunter Biden’s convictions in the two
federal cases, but it also pardons him from “offenses against the United States
which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period
from Jan. 1, 2014 through Dec. 1, 2024.”
Senator Britt said the decision to pardon Hunter Biden, 53, was like a slap in
the face to the people of our country. On Monday, Senator Britt released the
following statement:
