Amid the chaos of ongoing war and attacks on hospitals, another harsh winter is fast approaching in Ukraine, making the situation even more dire for women and girls.
Nationwide, more than 14 million people have been displaced, and the country is facing one of the world’s most severe healthcare crises. Disruptions to sexual and reproductive health services are putting pregnant women at extreme risk.
As winter looms, these women and girls are left out in the cold, with essential services in jeopardy.
But thanks to supporters like you, UNFPA’s medical teams continue to provide lifesaving sexual and reproductive health care, even amid air alarms and freezing temperatures.
Will you rush a gift to help deliver lifesaving care this winter to women and girls enduring war in Ukraine and beyond?
Despite the severe conditions, UNFPA’s mobile gynecological teams and barrier-free clinics continue their vital work in 23 regions across Ukraine.
But these services are at risk. If the U.S. government defunds UNFPA, as it did during President Trump’s first term, we could be forced to close 20 safe spaces for women and girls. These centers provide essential mental health support to women traumatized by the war and at heightened risk of violence.
We are appealing to you today to ensure we can continue to support women and girls in Ukraine and beyond, no matter the circumstances.
As women and girls in Ukraine face another harsh winter, your support is urgently needed. Will you make a gift today to provide lifesaving sexual and reproductive health care to those who need it most?
Thank you for being there for women and girls.
