When Brittany was first elected to Congress two years ago, she promised to focus on delivering tangible results to the people of Colorado.

A good portion of that work includes taking on the big fights that most voters know about — like lowering costs, standing up for Social Security and Medicare, and protecting our fundamental rights.

But a lot of Brittany’s time in Congress is spent working on issues that make a big difference in the lives of regular Coloradans, but rarely make front-page news.

Just this month, the House passed Brittany Pettersen’s bill — the John Griffin Regional Reservoir Project Act — as part of the larger Water Resources Development Act.

This Act authorizes a $50 million investment to improve water infrastructure in Fremont County — which will boost water storage, create a natural barrier to wildfire threats, and create more space for recreational activities. Thanks to Brittany’s efforts, this vital community project is on the path to completion.

But that’s not all Brittany is getting done for Colorado. Earlier this month, she introduced another bipartisan bill, the Post-Disaster Reforestation and Restoration Act . This legislation would require the Department of the Interior to identify areas in need of rehabilitation after a natural disaster and support projects through grants and contracts.

With over 3 million Coloradans — more than half the state’s population — living in a moderate to high risk area for wildfires, it’s critical that our government takes action to ensure these areas are protected. Brittany’s bill would not only help Colorado communities recover from a natural disaster, but allow them to prepare for future threats as well.

Time and time again, Brittany has shown her commitment to the needs of local communities. She’s worked across the aisle to bring tangible solutions to the people of Colorado — and she’ll continue that important work no matter what party is in charge in Washington.

Brittany will always refuse to play partisan, political games and instead, invest in the communities that make our state work. If Brittany’s brand of no-nonsense leadership speaks to you, will you chip in today to support her work?
