We're not going to lie -- we know things look bleak. Opponents of voting rights had a good Election Day. We're staring down the barrel of more suppressive policies. That's no reason to give up, however, and we can't afford to throw our hands up and obey in advance. Not with the court cases, state bills, new laws, special elections, and so much more on the horizon.

Voter Action Project was founded to expand mail-in ballot access during the pandemic.

When voting rights were threatened in the wake of the 2020 election, we mobilized to fight back against the wave of voter suppression that swept across the country with more than 400 bills in 49 of 50 states.

Since then we've been on the front lines of every battle for our right to vote, from Congressional legislation to court cases to voter registration to voter turnout in the last two elections. We've helped countless voters register, find their polling place, get informed about the issues, and make their ballot count.

Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
