There’s a lot going on right now, but I want to call your attention to something incredibly exciting happening in Wisconsin.
In November, thanks to the new fair maps, Democrats flipped 14 state legislative seats blue—ten in the Assembly and four in the State Senate.
And next month is our first legislative session for those elected under the new maps.
Thanks to the gains of the 2024 election, the state Assembly is just five seats shy of a Democratic majority, and the GOP supermajority in the state Senate has ended. If we can maintain this trajectory, both chambers in the Wisconsin Legislature could flip to a Democratic majority in 2026 – and we could see real progress for the people of our state.
But for Democrats to continue this forward momentum, we need to keep those seats and win more. That will take year-round organizing and outreach by WisDems – and we can only make that happen if we hit our end-of-year fundraising goal.
