As another year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for the privilege of serving as your representative in Congress. Representing New York’s 2nd Congressional District is both an honor and a responsibility I hold close to my heart. Together, we’ve made great strides in addressing the priorities of Long Islanders and ensuring that our voices are heard in Washington.
This year, I am proud of the work we accomplished together. We secured over $36 million in direct federal funding for 15 critical local projects, including the Oakdale Sewer Project, the Smith Point Bridge, and local workforce training. I led efforts to advance cybersecurity education through the Cybersecurity Grants for Schools Act, which is now law, and supported small businesses with cyber training initiatives. Additionally, I secured provisions in recent legislation to boost flood protection, storm damage prevention, and coastal restoration on Long Island.
My team has also been hard at work assisting thousands of constituents. Throughout the 118th Congress, we solved 4,221 constituent cases and recovered over $15.6 million owed to NY-02 residents in taxes, benefits, and grants.
There is still much more work to do, which is why I will continue to fight to secure our border, provide SALT relief, safeguard 9/11 health care, strengthen our economy, and bolster our national security in the 119th Congress.
Thank you for your engagement, feedback, and trust. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance or have questions about legislation or policy.
Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
Sincerely,
Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino
