We’re facing one of our biggest deadlines of the year at midnight on New Year’s Eve — OUR FIRST FEC DEADLINE POST-ELECTION. We need your help to hit our goal so we can start our organizing strategy, effective communications, and retake the narrative on day one of the new Congress.

It’s safe to say my team has been debriefing and regrouping ever since Election Day. The picture of what went wrong for Democrats has crystallized, and now with just a few days left in 2024, we’re strategizing our next steps for 2025.

I’m going to lay out some of what we are discussing internally (this is a long read but I really want to be transparent with you). Before I dive in, I would be remiss if I didn’t flag that this week is our FIRST FEC public filing since the election. Will you pitch in now to help us have a strong report? [[link removed]]

This cycle left no doubt: there’s a disconnect between the American people and what goes on in DC. That’s in part thanks to the Republican disinformation campaign that they’ve been building up for decades. Voters are not hearing what the Democratic party is doing. How are we helping families? How are we saving them money? How does our work make their day-to-day life better?

Instead, they’re hearing extremist narratives, empowered MAGA members screaming about decisive issues, and made-up nonsense about what the Democratic party isn’t doing. This has worked for them point-blank for decades and they’re counting on us cowering away and allowing it to continue. I WILL NOT DO THAT.

We have to talk to the American people more effectively — that’s why early dollars this cycle are going to be critical in establishing new messaging channels and lines of communication with voters. And showing that we aren’t backing down from the narrative, we’re taking it back.

With just a few days until our FEC public filing deadline, make a donation to help us expand our year-round outreach to voters and hit back at the GOP’s deep pockets and always-on messaging. [[link removed]]DONATE [[link removed]]

Despite what happened nationally, we saw strong numbers in my district because of our commitment to organizing year-round and not just when there’s an election to win. I’m aiming to expand on that leading into the next cycle.

We’ve been playing defense, it’s time to go on offense. And we need the dollars to do it. [[link removed]]

We have a lot of work to do to reconnect with voters in 2025 and convince them it’s the Democrats that are fighting to make their lives better. That’s why we are prioritizing early dollars in the door to start our outreach plan on day one of the next Congress.

Thanks for being a part of these efforts,

Mary Gay
