Hi there, serving in the United States military was one of the greatest honors of my life. I’ve never forgotten the creed I lived by when I served as an Army Ranger:

“My country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other.”
“I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be, 100% and then some.”
“Under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.”

After 9/11, I served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with the Army Rangers.

My three tours taught me a lot about respect, working under pressure, and the value of selfless service to others.

As a leader, it was on me to set an example — to be the last one to eat, and the first one to jump out of the plane.

This week, as I make a renewed commitment to standing for our country’s principles and our shared democratic values in the 119th Congress, I’m remembering The Ranger Creed.

I joined the military to protect our rights and freedoms. I ran for office to make a difference in people’s lives. We need more leaders who are ready to do the hard work and bring people together.

I’m ready to get back to work in Congress to make life better for Americans and protect our rights, but I can’t do it alone.
