Team,
As we wrap up 2024, we want to acknowledge everything we were able to accomplish together this year. Take a look!
🏡 Affordable Housing – We made significant investments in home building that will continue Phoenix on a path where families can continue to afford housing. We are 98% of the way towards our goal of creating and preserving 50,000 homes by 2030. We also saw a reduction in the number of people experiencing homelessness in Phoenix and increased the number of people accepting services.

🚄Infrastructure – With the passage of Proposition 479, we will continue to see big improvements in our regional infrastructure. In addition to supporting thousands of high-paying jobs, our plans to expand (and keep) bus service and invest in new highways and other roadway improvements will help make our region more accessible and commuters safe on the roads.

🌎 Sustainability – In October, we released the first progress report on our Climate Action Plan that aims to make Phoenix the most sustainable desert city in the world. We’ve reduced our per-capita carbon emissions by 20.5% since 2012, and we’ve worked with ASU on a first-of-its-kind microfactory for plastics that would otherwise go to landfills. We’re working on electrifying the city’s public transit system and continuing to reduce the impact of urban heat by increasing tree cover and building shade structures.

💵 Economic Development – Phoenix continued to lead the way in economic growth among U.S. cities. We’re seeing a boom of high-paying, high-skill jobs for Phoenicians. Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport was ranked #1 by the Wall Street Journal and has added six new destinations as well as a 7.6% increase in passengers, proving Phoenix is the place to be.

While we made some great progress in 2024, we know there is still work to be done in 2025 and beyond. As Mayor Kate Gallego enters her 2nd term as mayor, she’ll continue to build on our progress and ensure Phoenix is a safe, affordable, and prosperous place to call home.
