The White House’s Shameful Exploitation of the Madison School Shooting
Another tragic story was quickly buried in the hectic news cycle surrounding the Christmas holiday season, but it shouldn't have. Are school shootings becoming so normal that we are desensitized and numb when another shooting hits the news? God, I hope not!
The White House deserves public denunciation and censure for the shameful statement they produced following the tragic school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, two weeks ago. [ [link removed] ]
President Joe Biden's administration, with a lack of compassion and sensitivity, issued a statement that was not about mourning the loss or providing solace to the bereaved. Instead, on the official letterhead of our country's chief executive, they listed the same four, standard, stale demands of the Democrat Party gun grabbers: universal background checks, a national red flag law, a ban on assault weapons, and a ban on high-capacity magazines, none of which would have stopped this tragedy from happening. This was done moments after the body bags were removed from Abundant Life School, where a 14-year-old girl and a substitute teacher lost their lives.
What's more infuriating is the missed opportunity to focus on tangible solutions that could save lives. Why aren't we fortifying our schools with the same level of security we see in courthouses? If I must pass through a metal detector manned by trained officers to serve on a jury, why is there no similar protocol to enter a classroom? If the Abundant Life killer had been subjected to such security measures, she might not have been able to bring a gun into the study hall, potentially saving two lives.
Instead of advocating for practical security enhancements, the Left exploits these tragic events to push for more gun control measures that do little to nothing for school safety. This isn't about protecting our children; it's about advancing a political agenda under the guise of concern for public safety.
The White House's response was not just tone-deaf; it was a glaring example of how political opportunism trumps genuine concern for human life. We need leaders who will address the root causes of these shootings and implement real, effective security measures in schools. The lives of our children and educators depend on it. It's time to stop using their deaths as a platform for political gain and start focusing on what will genuinely make our schools safe havens of learning, not targets for tragedy.
It's time for America to secure our schools!
