Now, 2025 is here, and with it comes uncertainty and tough fights ahead. For many vulnerable communities across the United States, this new year brings uncertainty. We know that with a Republican trifecta in Washington and Donald Trump back in the White House, the GOP is gearing up to unleash its extreme Project 2025 policy agenda that will hurt immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, working families, our environment, and more.

But the greatest antidote for fear is courage—courage to take on the people and systems that brought us here. This year, we must make big changes to reshape the Democratic Party from the ground up to be the Party for-and-by everyday people taking down Republicans and their billionaire backers.

That means demanding Party leadership cut its ties with far-right billionaire-funded lobby groups and super PACs like AIPAC and the crypto industry, building the pressure to overturn Citizens United and affirm that corporations are NOT people, and recruiting the next generation of Justice Democrats candidates to run against both Democratic and Republican incumbents who’ve lost touch with those they were elected to serve.

It’s going to take a lot of work, but if we come together, we can defeat the odds, strengthen our progressive movement, and put more power into the hands of working-class people where it belongs.
