Truthout: Republicans Plan to Revive Legislative Attacks on Voting Rights [[link removed]]
This is the consequence of opponents of voting rights controlling both houses of Congress and the White House, John:
A key House lawmaker recently made clear in an interview that the vote suppressors plan to push for a pair of their voting-related bills when they take control of both chambers of Congress and the White House this month. They plan to bring forward both the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act and the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.
“ As we look to the new year with unified Republican government, we have a real opportunity to move these pieces of legislation not only out of committee, but across the House floor and into law, ” he said.
The ACE ACT " would nationalize harmful and unnecessary restrictions on voting rights, " while the SAVE Act -- which narrowly passed the House in 2024 and was stopped in the Senate -- requires proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections, which is something you already need, since non-citizen voting is illegal, and adds onerous verification requirements intended to drive off eligible voters.
John, we have to be ready to stop these bills and more when the new Congress starts tomorrow. The margins are so thin and every bit helps as we hold our representatives accountable for their votes. Pitch in $25 or whatever you can today >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
