Democrat,
As we step into the new year, we embrace the opportunity to redouble our efforts in voter education and civic engagement—cornerstones of a thriving democracy. Our focus is clear: to empower every voter with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions and to inspire active participation in the democratic process. By prioritizing education on key issues, and fostering dialogue, we can ensure that every voice is heard and every vote is counted.
As we enter the year ahead, let us not only celebrate the progress we’ve made but also take the time to reflect on the lessons we’ve learned. Our strength as a party lies in our ability to connect with the people by sharing our successes, addressing their concerns, and standing united. From passing critical legislation that supports working families to fighting for justice and equity, our achievements are significant. However, we must also acknowledge the need to communicate these successes more effectively and not just during election seasons, but every single day.
Let’s make 2025 a year of action, growth, and impact.

This week, we honor the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter, a true embodiment of Democratic values. As the 39th President of the United States, he championed human rights, brokered the historic Camp David Accords, and prioritized energy conservation and environmental stewardship. Beyond his presidency, he became a global symbol of compassion and service, dedicating his life to eradicating disease, alleviating poverty, and advocating for peace through his work with The Carter Center. His unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the dignity of all people serves as an enduring inspiration, reminding us of the profound impact of a life devoted to service.

Governor Phil Murphy closed out the year by signing legislation on Tuesday to move New Jersey’s 2025 Primary Election date from June 3 to June 10, avoiding a conflict with the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. This change, championed by faith leaders and lawmakers, ensures that observant Jewish voters, who refrain from using technology or traveling during the holiday, can fully participate in the democratic process. The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission is also preparing to update spending limits to accommodate the extended election timeline, further supporting an accessible election for all.

On Thursday, President Biden awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to 20 extraordinary individuals whose exemplary service has profoundly impacted their fellow citizens and our Nation. Among the honorees were Mary Bonauto, a trailblazing attorney whose work led to the legalization of same-sex marriage across the United States; Bennie G. Thompson, who championed truth and integrity as Chair of the January 6th Committee; and Mitsuye Endo Tsutsumi, whose courage in challenging the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II upheld the values of freedom and justice. These recipients embody the spirit of dedication, resilience, and commitment to building a better America.
