Dear John,
Happy New Year! If you’re thinking about attending the Inauguration on Monday, January 20, when President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, this newsletter is for you.
We received over 1,500 ticket requests and, unfortunately, due to the small number of tickets each Congressional office receives, we were only able to accommodate about 10% of the requests. How did we determine who got tickets? Through a random drawing.
Check Your Email: If selected, you’ll receive an email from our office within the next 24 hours with instructions. Please confirm receipt or risk forfeiting your ticket(s). Note, only those who are selected to receive ticket(s) from our office will receive an email.
Not Selected? You can still attend! The Inauguration is open to the public and tickets aren’t required — having a ticket just gets you closer to the U.S. Capitol Building where the event is taking place. There will also be large video screens along the National Mall.
Please note: It is likely that at least some individuals who requested tickets no longer want them or are unable to attend. As we have returned tickets, we will reach out to those who were not selected to offer any available tickets through additional random drawings. So please keep an eye on your email.
