I founded Democracy Docket in 2020 with a clear purpose: to become the leading digital news platform dedicated to information, analysis and opinion about voting rights and elections in the courts. Over the last five years, it has succeeded beyond my wildest imagination.
Its free daily and weekly newsletters focused on its core mission reach nearly 300,000 subscribers. Its website tracks nearly 1,000 voting and election cases. It has become a place that activists and elected officials go to share their expertise and gain valuable insight.
The new year presents new challenges and new opportunities. In the coming weeks and months, Democracy Docket will further expand its team to provide even more content to the entire pro-democracy community — its readers, viewers, subscribers and members.
I remain as convinced today as I was five years ago that there is a need for an outlet that is fiercely independent and unapologetically pro-democracy. I am certain that Democracy Docket is uniquely situated to help fill that gap.
This expansion will take resources. So, I want to start the year by thanking you for being a subscriber and asking you to consider upgrading to becoming a member.
Here is my weekend reading list.
