Friend,
There's a man with a "plan" coming to the White House. It’s not a good plan, but it’s a plan. Oh, it’s also not a fully materialized plan, but we guess that’s enough for the media to call it a plan? Remember “concepts of a plan?” We sure do.
Proper naming aside, Trump is bundling all of his ideas designed to screw the middle class into one “big, beautiful bill.” Why? Because he knows he’s going to have pretty much no chance to get anything done otherwise, and he can’t afford to piss off his billionaire buddies and worshipers over at the Heritage Foundation.
Trump’s working with one of the smallest House majorities in American history, which is not ideal for the most divisive president in American history. He needs people to band together, and as you probably know, that’s not his strong suit. Need an example? Just look at what happened to MAGA Mike. The incumbent speaker with a majority and the president-elect’s endorsement had to go through multiple votes just to retain his gavel. That’s the opposite of efficient.
Another reason we’re confident that this bill will fail is because Trump’s calling it “big” and “beautiful.” We couldn't have asked him to use better words. Every single one of Trump’s half-baked, numbskulled, ridiculous ideas has been described with the same two adjectives. And guess where they are now? Either bankrupt or on an invoice sent to the Secret Service. So if we had to compare this bill to something Trump’s created, we’d go with the steaks he sold out of mall store fronts. Or maybe the board game.
Trying to pass everything in one giant bill because the party you created can’t agree on anything isn’t the worst idea Trump’s ever had. But hey, that doesn’t mean it’s a good one. And it probably means it isn’t going to work. As we’ve said from the beginning, we’re not expecting much from this administration, even if they do have a congressional majority. We’re expecting MAGA to do what they do best: argue amongst themselves and accomplish nothing. And while they’re doing that, we’ll be here. Documenting and exploiting. Because when their time runs out in less than two years, voters won’t have the patience to re-elect a party incapable of governing. Chip in so we can get this done >> <[link removed]>
