Friend,

Trump is guilty.

We’re not going to say it was terribly exciting. 

We’re not going to say he got the punishment he deserved.

But we will say it was incredibly important.

After today’s court appearance, the first trial of a former American president is complete, and Donald Trump is formally known as a convicted felon.

We can’t help but think of what could have happened if he lost the election. Remember, the whole reason he ran this time was to stay out of prison. He didn’t really want this job, but he’d definitely take it over scooping chili for his fellow convicts in the prison kitchen.

Today is a reminder of how much elections matter. Prison time and hefty fines were on the table today. And if we had won this election, we really believe those would be in play. He’s a criminal. 34 felony counts is no joke. But, because he was re-elected, he walks free. With his crooked court and his weirdo party controlling Congress, he’s virtually untouchable.

While there’s no official entity that will hold him accountable over the next four years, there is us. The pro-democracy movement is still here, and we’re happy to step up. We’re not going to stand by and let a criminal do whatever he wants. And we’re not going to let the party that worships a criminal as if he were God himself get away with whatever they want. There has to be accountability.  

Regardless of who’s in the White House, this is still our America, and this is still our democracy. Our focus right now is protecting it. The best way to do that? Just watching, waiting, and sounding the alarm when the time is right. Help us keep tabs on these criminals >> <[link removed]>
