Protecting Our Communities from Biden's Border Crisis
Under the Biden Administration, more than 8.8 million illegal immigrants have been encountered at the southern border, and our communities continue to suffer under the weight of these dangerous open border policies. No family should have to go through what Laken Riley's family went through, yet, we're seeing it all too often because President Biden opened the southern border.
This week, I was proud to once again vote in support of the Laken Riley Act to hold the Biden Administration accountable for their role in these tragedies. The bill requires detention of illegal aliens who commit theft and mandates ICE take them into custody, and allows a state to sue the Federal government on behalf of their citizens for not enforcing the border laws, particularly in the case of parole. This important bill passed the House earlier this week, and now must go before the Senate for a vote.
