Dear John,
It’s been a busy week, but I’m here to update you on the transition work happening in Washington as we look forward to Inauguration Day.
This week, the nation bid farewell to former President Jimmy Carter, a man whose life was defined by a commitment to peace, humanitarian work, and service to others. As President Donald Trump rightly pointed out, being tasked with leading during difficult times is never easy, and Carter bore that weight with a quiet resolve. Although we may not always agree on policies or his time in office, his legacy will be remembered for his tireless work for peace, democracy, and human rights around the world. We honor his service and extend our condolences to his family.
I’m thrilled to once again take the oath of office and honored to continue representing the wonderful people of Minnesota’s Seventh District in Congress. I’m fired up to get to work under the leadership of President Trump’s second term. When conservative values take center stage, our nation prospers. Now, more than ever, we need to advance legislation that puts America First, secures our border, cuts federal spending, defends life, and keeps our freedoms intact. With every new session, I am committed to standing up for the hardworking families of Minnesota and the principles that make this country great. Together, we’ll continue to deliver victories for our state and our nation, and I am ready to take on the challenges ahead.
And on that note, my team and I are already getting to work. We are on the front lines, making sure President Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party’s America First agenda clears every hurdle and passes the House. Last week, we passed a game-changing rules package ahead of President Trump’s inauguration, which prioritized consideration of bills to defund sanctuary cities, protect women’s sports, require proof of citizenship to vote, and ensure life-saving care for infants born alive after abortion attempts. Delivering on President Trump’s agenda by securing conservative victories is my top priority—and I’m ready to fight for rural communities every step of the way.
As always, please contact my office if you have any questions about my record or my votes, or if there is anything we can help with. Thank you for your continued support!
