Friend – It's the first day of the Iowa Legislature, and our legislative team is ready. For years, we've built relationships on both sides of the aisle, positioning us to have the ear of a wide variety of political leaders who respect our nonpartisan expertise on civil liberties and the Iowa and U.S. Constitutions. Even in difficult environments, we get things done because we remain true to our basic values of protecting civil liberties for all, regardless of political persuasion, no matter who is in office. Each year, we analyze and follow the hundreds of bills that are introduced that impact civil liberties. This year, we'll be on the lookout for bills on topics that are very much in the news:
