Hi John,

It’s officially the first day of the 2025 Legislative Session. It was wonderful to see our newest Senators – Matt Blake, Tom Townsend, and Art Staed – sworn in this morning! As the leader of the Senate Democrats, I just wanted to offer you a preview of what we hope to accomplish over these next four months. 

Between the 2024 session and the 2023 special session, Republicans enacted some of the most extreme, far-right legislation in the country – from a near-total abortion ban to gutting our Area Education Agencies. Basically, we are the test case for Project 2025. There is no telling what rights Kim Reynolds and Senate Republicans will go after next.

Senate Democrats are committed to opposing any extreme legislation that hurts hard working Iowans - and we are determined to deliver a better deal for all Iowans. 

But we can’t do this without your help.

John, If you donate today, we’ll know you have our back when we stand up to Republicans and hold them accountable in the Senate. With so much at stake this session, can I count on you?

This includes improving economic opportunities for every Iowan, ensuring our kids are fed, fully funding our public schools, and addressing the healthcare challenges so many in this state face – including our sky high cancer rates. 

These should not be partisan issues.
