John, as the new Congressional session begins, I can’t help but think about the upcoming anniversary of Roe v. Wade this month, the unrelenting attacks on our rights and privacy from the GOP, and the uphill battles ahead.
I know the future of reproductive rights can feel bleak with the coming Republican trifecta in Washington (especially as SCOTUS arguments begin today) — but I promise to continue to advocate for our rights no matter the odds. Protecting your interests and well-being is my job, especially in moments when the threat is greatest.
My question for you is, do you want my Democratic colleagues and me to stand up to the GOP on this? Let me know.
Instantly add your name if you want me pushing the GOP to restore women’s rights >>
51 years ago following decades of advocacy, the majority rejoiced when Roe v. Wade cemented the right to choose. A right that the GOP has strategically weaponized ever since, raising billions campaigning against reproductive freedom.
They won the battle when they struck down Roe v. Wade, but they will not win the war over our bodies. We will restore our rights.
Regardless of the Congressional makeup, I will continue to introduce legislation to protect the right to choose. I will continue to introduce legislation to protect all of our human and civil rights. And I will continue to introduce legislation that strengthens our democracy.
The GOP will continue to lie, divide, and conquer — we must hold them accountable to the people. And the people want reproductive freedom.
We’re down but not out, the work goes on and Democrats are getting ready to fight like hell for as long as it takes. We need you with us, instantly let me know if you’re on board.
Thanks,
Mary Gay
