In just one week, Donald Trump will be sworn in as President of the United States. I won’t sugarcoat it — I’m deeply concerned about what this means for our democracy, our rights, and our future.
Trump’s return to power will bring unprecedented challenges. His agenda is clear: abortion bans, attacks on voting rights, and policies that benefit the ultra-wealthy at the expense of working families. His administration has already promised to implement Project 2025 and undermine the very foundation of our democracy.
But here’s the thing: Trump doesn’t get the final say.
With my new role as Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, I’m preparing to hold him accountable every single day. I’ll investigate his administration’s actions, expose corruption, and fight for the rights of everyday people. I’ve done it before, and I’m ready to do it again.
This work won’t be easy, and I won’t pretend I can do it alone. Trump and his allies will come after me with everything they’ve got, but I refuse to back down.
We’re in the fight of our lives, but I know we can rise to meet this moment — because we’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again.
