The Doorways Model


Doorways’ response to domestic violence, sexual assault, and homelessness includes a spectrum of programs and services, ranging from prevention to shelter and housing. Doorways meets each client where they are, addressing their unique needs with tailored support. Client needs range from one-time support from any one part of our trauma-informed continuum of care, to continuous support from multiple programs as part of their journey to safe, stable, and empowered lives.

CDC Study Reveals that 1 in 20 Women Face Abuse While Pregnant


"One in 20 women reported intimate partner violence (IPV) while pregnant, according to a new report released on Dec. 5 by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). A study conducted from 2016 to 2022 found emotional violence to be most common, followed by physical violence and sexual violence. Much of this abuse then led to emotional issues and neglect of the mothers and their unborn children."

WHO: Adolescent Girls Face Alarming Rates of Intimate Partner Violence


"Intimate partner violence is starting alarmingly early for millions of young women around the world," said Dr. Pascale Allotey, Director of WHO's Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research Department. "Given that violence during these critical formative years can cause profound and lasting harms, it needs to be taken more seriously as a public health issue – with a focus on prevention and targeted support."
