Hi there,

As we look toward the year ahead of us, I'm filled with a deep sense of pride about everything we accomplished in 2024.

We fought to get Illinois Democrats elected up and down the ballot in our state and secured huge victories across the board. Democrats defended every seat in the General Assembly, and through our state party, we engaged over 2 million voters, hosted hundreds of events, and worked to help our neighboring states too.

But our state's progress extends far beyond electoral victories.

In 2024, I signed several pieces of legislation into law that will protect our communities, and I announced investments that will secure our future.

First, we further cemented ourselves as a safe haven for reproductive rights. We extended SHIELD laws to prohibit state and local governments from invvestigation health care services that are legal in Illinois.

We addressed maternal mortality rates among Black and brown women, and protected new mothers and their babies through the Birth Equity Initiative. Women across the country are looking to our state for care, and we are prepared to provide it.

Next, we made Illinois a global leader in quantum technology development, and we're already creating jobs by doing it.

These are just a few of the many ways that we're building an Illinois that future generations will be proud of. In 2025, I'm confident that we will continue the progress.

Now, we'll face challenges in the year ahead and it won't always be easy. But as Illinoisans, we are resillient. Even with all the hurdles that may be ahead, we will pick ourselves up, march forward, and help others along the way.

We are, after all, One Illinois .
