John,

Like Alexandra announced this morning, Justice Democrats has officially
launched our 2026 Candidate Recruitment Campaign!

As Campaigns Director at Justice Democrats, my job is to oversee our whole
operation for candidates, from recruitment, to launching campaigns, to
seeing them through Election Day.

You may be wondering what candidate recruitment means specifically at
Justice Democrats. We’ll be looking at congressional districts across the
country to determine which out-of-touch corporate incumbents we’ll
challenge with working-class candidates in the 2026 primary elections, and
we’re asking everyday people to nominate community leaders they trust to
run for office.

Justice Democrats recruited Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2017 after her
brother nominated her to run a primary campaign against the long-time
corporate Democrat who was then representing NY-14. Our candidate
recruitment efforts and the progressive members of Congress that follow
have the power to dramatically change and transform the Democratic Party
from the ground up.

Candidate recruitment takes serious resources, and money has always been
the #1 thing holding us back as an organization because we refuse to take
a cent from corporate PACs.

John, to help us reach our goal of raising
$100,000 by February 1. Will you help us find and elect the next AOC or
Summer Lee or Rashida Tlaib by contributing to our 2026 Candidate
Recruitment Fund right now?

This last year, we faced an unprecedented amount of spending from AIPAC
and its super PACs, which successfully ousted Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman
using tens of millions of dollars from corporate and billionaire GOP
donors. I won’t lie, those losses hurt.

I also believe this last year showed us that we must double down on our
mission to elect leaders who will fight for human rights and freedom for
Palestinians, Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and the most pressing
needs facing everyday people nationwide.

The unprecedented spending we face is a sign of our strength. As the
working class built power in the halls of Congress with the support of
groups like JD, it was inevitable that corporate and special interests
would respond. Those interests want us to give up. It is more important
than ever that we fight back and continue to build.

Congressional races are becoming more expensive than ever before and
there’s no surprising the establishment anymore. Corporate Democrats and
their billionaire backers know we exist and know we’re doing everything we
can to defeat them.

With your support, we’ve taken on the Democratic establishment and won
crucial House races since 2018. But now, we need a groundswell of support
to recruit and elect a new slate of working-class champions over the next
two years to strengthen our bloc and root out the Party’s corporate
corruption in 2026.

[ [link removed] ]If you believe we need a Democratic Party that fights for the
interests of working-class people and not corporate donors, please support
our candidate recruitment efforts today with a $5
donation.

I’m ready to get to work to find and recruit the next slate of progressive
champions who’ll fight for us, and I hope you’ll join me in this critical
work.

Thank you so much for everything,

Geoff Simpson
Campaigns Director
