John,

A lot has happened since I last reached out, so I want to make sure you're up to date.

FIRST: I was sworn in to the 119th Congress, marking the start of another term representing Illinois with a clear determination to continue fighting for your priorities and against extreme Republican policies.

THEN: I was honored to be officially sworn in by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and to rejoin the 43 members who will stand strong in this Congress, ready to champion the needs of the Hispanic/Latino community.

NOW: My focus this term is on delivering for Illinois, always prioritizing the needs of our communities over any special interests.

I am confident in everything we can achieve this term, but with MAGA Republicans doing everything they can to harm Chicago as a sanctuary city by trying to undermine our community's hard-fought protections under the guise of public safety, we must remain steadfast.

We must oppose these attacks that will only lead to enhanced racial profiling, separation of families, and the violation of civil rights of both immigrants and U.S. citizens.

John, this 119th Congress, I will continue fighting for fair and humane treatment of immigrants and for more investments in violence intervention programs and resources that can truly keep our communities safe, but I can't do it alone. Will you support our efforts to create a more just and equitable Illinois by chipping in what you can today?

Congressman Chuy García
