I am writing to ask you to make a donation to the American Red Cross who is on the ground in Southern California working to help people who are at the highest time of need they can possibly face.
If you are already familiar with the wildfires happening in Southern California and why your help is so important, please use this link to donate:

Otherwise, please let me explain:
As you read this, firefighters are continuing to battle what will be the most destructive wildfires in California history.
More than two dozen people have died. Thousands of homes, businesses, and community spaces have been destroyed. People's lives changed forever. And if it were not for the heroic and non-stop work for firefighters from California and across North America who came to help, it could have been significantly worse.
Those families need help.
The American Red Cross is there. More than 350 workers are in Southern California providing "food, shelter, emotional support and other critical services" to impacted families.
They are providing not just shelter, but medical support to hundreds of people.
In the midst of all of the trauma these fires have produced, we are seeing extraordinary acts of heroism and generosity. We are seeing it from our firefighters, of course, but also people who are helping perfect strangers when they need it most.
Today, I am asking for you to do what you can to help.
Please contribute $5, $50 or whatever you can afford to the American Red Cross. It will go a long way in making sure people suffering through this horrible disaster get the help they need when they need it most.
