Did you see this, John?
With Southern Californians grieving and much of Los Angeles facing fire, Speaker Johnson is threatening to condition aid to California in our time of need.
And he’s not the only one. Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville went on national TV saying that because California elects Democrats statewide, “They don't deserve anything to be honest with you.”
Will you add your name to our petition calling for fire disaster relief to not be politicized or tied up in red tape and excuses? This is a natural disaster, and the focus should be on delivering aid and relief to the impacted people and first responders.

Shelter shouldn’t come with strings.
Food and water shouldn’t come with strings.
Rebuilding our communities and restoring hope to countless Californians should not come with strings.
Our survivors and first responders deserve support from the federal government — and under President Biden, we’ve received it. President Biden has announced that for the next six months, the federal government will cover 100% of the cost of measures to protect lives and property in Southern California.
But now many leading Republicans are openly discussing limiting or conditioning future aid — all because they don’t like our elected officials. That is wrong.
That’s why we are asking: Will you sign our petition demanding that aid not be politicized?

Thank you so much for speaking up at this incredibly urgent time.
