Dear John,

Next Monday, we celebrate Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and inaugurate the 47th President of the United States. Today, I will be serving warm lunch to members of our community to honor Reverend Dr. King, and next week, I will be attending President Trump’s inauguration to honor the peaceful transfer of power. Both observances are ingrained in our national fabric, and it’s both an honor and a duty for me to participate.

The 119th Congress is now sworn in to represent our constituents in Washington, D.C. I am ready to work with the new administration and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver results. To do so most effectively, I want to hear directly from you on what’s important, what you want to know about from me and my team, and how best to reach you with news and information.

Our first Town Hall of the new year and new Congress is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, at 6 p.m. Check our website and future newsletters for an invitation coming soon. We do monthly Town Halls, which is one of the ways we can stay connected with each other, so if you haven’t attended one yet, I’d love for you to join us soon.

My State of the Sixth Address is also coming up. I host this live event every year to give you a more detailed view into my work for our community. Stay tuned for more information on the date of my annual address to our community.

Serving as our community's representative is the honor of my lifetime, and I hope to hear from you soon about any issue that concerns you.
