Dear John,
It has been a busy week in Washington as we get ready for President Donald J.
Trump’s second inauguration on Monday. House Republicans are working hard to
get key bills passed and set the stage for when President Trump takes office.
This week, the U.S. House passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports
Act of 2025. It is outrageous that biological males are competing in women’s
sports, leaving female athletes at a severe disadvantage and putting them at
risk of injuries. We cannot allow the woke gender ideologies to continue to
seep into our schools and athletic institutions. Protecting women’s sports
isn’t about competition—it’s about acknowledging the differences between the
two genders. I will continue to fight for policies that ensure girls have a
level playing field and are not sidelined by the Left’s obsession with Wokeism
over fairness or facts.
The House Ways and Means Committee is continuing its work to review and build
on the successes of President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. These tax cuts
helped hard-working Americans keep more of their paychecks and sparked economic
growth like we haven’t seen in decades. But if we do not act, the middle-class
portion of these cuts will expire, raising taxes across the board. It's time to
make these tax cuts permanent and continue pushing for policies that reduce the
tax burden on families and businesses.
As a part of my deep commitment to life and the rights of unborn babies, I
reintroduced theDefund Planned Parenthood Act and the Protecting Life and
Taxpayers Act.The former would explicitly stop Planned Parenthood from using
taxpayer dollars to fund their abortion enterprise. For decades, Planned
Parenthood has profited by systematically choosing to end life rather than
support it. Now, it is time we stop supporting them. TheProtecting Life and
Taxpayers Act takes it one step further, ensuring that no federal funds will
ever go to entities that perform or support abortion in any way. Taxpayers like
you and I should not be forced to financially prop up any organization like
Planned Parenthood that denies the most fundamental right of all: life.
