On Monday, the 46th President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., will leave office. While we should respect the man and the office and pray for him and his family, our nation should be praising God for the end of the most disastrous presidency in modern American history.
Our praise and our gratitude is due to our God for showing mercy to our nation by ending this regime in dramatic fashion.
In 2020, Biden campaigned as a man who could bring America together, would apply the rule of law fairly, govern in moderation, restore norms, and fight “for the little guy.” Anyone who followed his career or understood reality would know that these were lies. And, when given power, he did the exact opposite.
Joe Biden abused the law to enrich his family, avoid prosecution, and attack his opponents. He imposed a wicked ideology the robbed children of their lives and innocence. He rejected norms – constitutional, historic, scientific, decency, etc. – and sought to redo the government in the image of a failed socialist state. Instead of “fighting for the little guy,” he made life unaffordable for the majority of Americans. And, he left America more divided than ever before.
What’s worse – we use direct attribution of “Joe Biden” and “he” in the loosest of terms because we know that he was unfit and incapable of operating at the helm of this country. Puppet-masters have made the decisions for America over the last four years, and we have lived a constitutional crisis.
While I have no idea why the Lord allowed this man to ascend to power, now is a good time for our nation to have introspection and learn lessons. Here are some:
Never trust someone whose life is defined by governmental power – Throughout his life Joe Biden was all about power. As he leaves office, he will have spent more than five decades in public life. There is no Joe Biden without a government position, and his desperate drive for power – need of it – doomed America over the last four years.
Family matters – We have conditioned our society to “not judge” someone by their personal life and their family. This is incredibly wrongheaded. If someone cannot be trusted in how they lead their home, how can they lead the country? As one looks at the Biden Family, it’s a mess, and it’s clear that an absent, power-hungry father is at the root of their problems. In looking at leaders, examining their personal lives remains an important factor.
Intellect and curiosity matters – Over the course of his public life, Joe Biden repeatedly showed us that his intellect was subpar for someone serving in high office, and he lacked a curiosity to expand his knowledge base. He would pompously proclaim, stammer around the facts, and inarticulately attempt to seem intelligent while really just coasting on being engrossed in government. As he got older, the problems grew worse and his mind grew blank. In looking for leaders, we should never settle for someone whose mind is not sharp. Let’s aspire for higher!
Worldview matters – To this day, Joe Biden will lean on his identification as a Catholic. Yet, there are no matters of public policy or daily living that reflect Catholic doctrine. In fact, over the course of his life, Biden rarely remained grounded in anything – changing based on the popular tones and dictates of his Party and his electorate. He was a mirror, not a leader. When examining candidates for leadership we must consider their worldview, assess what they are moored to, and consider how they make decisions and if it comes from a place of personal systematic thought.
America must demand accountability – The advent of social media and access to information has downsides – including rise in conspiracies, deep fakes, and tabloid-style gossip. However, it also provides people with the opportunity to witness truth without a media filter. It was clear to any rational observer that Joe Biden was a gaffe-prone, joke-of-a-person when he ran for president and this was picked as Obama’s running mate in 2008. In 2012, it was obvious he was well past his lackluster “prime.” In 2016, he was “too old.” And, in 2020, any observer could tell that we was in decline. As his presidency dragged on, however, it became clear that he was mentally vacant, yet the number of media outlets, elected officials, and bureaucrats who refused to tell the truth was astonishing. Americans must insist on more accountability stemming from this constitutional crisis so that it never happens again.
There are many lessons for the American people to learn after this incredibly dark time. There is also reason to rejoice that – through no merit of a nation fleeing from godliness – the Lord saw fit to show mercy to our country and its people.
Looking ahead,
Cole Muzio
