Show Some Love for the Class of 2020
The 2020 graduation season in the time of COVID-19 looks different than in years past. This year, many graduates will not cross a physical stage, hear from a commencement speaker in person, or toss their caps in the air with their friends. Yet we cannot lose sight that the Class of 2020, with the support of millions of caring adults, worked hard for this milestone, and we want to celebrate their achievements and honor their commencement. While these caring adults may not be able to watch their graduates be recognized or give them a hug this year, they can still honor young people’s accomplishments by writing them a personal letter or sharing a special message.

Join America’s Promise, ASCD, Learning Heroes, and MENTOR in celebrating the accomplishments of this year’s graduates by writing a letter, recording a video, and/or sharing a message on social using #Letters2Grads!

Calling All Young People: Share Your Story!
Young people across the country are feeling the effects of COVID-19—from school closures to cancelled activities to job losses—and they are finding creative solutions to stay connected and cope with the challenges brought on by this pandemic. America’s Promise Alliance is helping them tell their stories, creating a safe platform for youth (ages 6-25) to share their experiences about life during COVID-19.

We are amplifying young people’s voices so that their experiences and perspectives can shape how schools, nonprofit and community organizations, out-of-school settings, employers, and policymakers support them both now and emerging from the pandemic. Follow along with #StateOfYoungPeople and invite young people in your lives to share their stories!
