** IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL SEASON!
------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning!

Another crazy week has come and gone. As we put the week to bed, we invite you to join us for the portion of it where we deftly state the depressing state of a decrepit Golden State)!

Last week, State schools superintendent Tony Thurmond called for major revisions to the State Board of Education’s ethnic studies curriculum. Following pushback from parents, Jewish American organizations, and legislators, the State Board announced that they would redesign the curriculum ([link removed]) .

In Los Angeles, there is not only a homeless problem but also a public health crisis. The Daily Wire ([link removed]) is now reporting the presence of medieval diseases in the city of Angels. Citing a Reform California ([link removed]) study, they note the presence of both typhus and bubonic plague.

Many Californians sent their children back to school this week. While it’s easy to get bogged down at work and not think about the type of education a child is receiving, CPC contributor Larry Sand warns parents not to be lethargic. Click here to his analysis ([link removed]) .

The cost of living in California continues to rise. Yet, as CPC fellow Edward Ring points out, there is still a lot of room to build in California. “When politically contrived artificial scarcity is imposed on a market, an asset bubble is formed. As long as the scarcity can be maintained, the bubble will expand. The beneficiaries of a real estate bubble are public entities, which not only collect property taxes from more assessed properties, thanks to densification, but also collect based on higher assessments, thanks to the inflated values.” Click here to read the full article ([link removed]) .

This week we concluded our Prop 65 weekly photo contest. You can see the final winner here. ([link removed]) We hope you’ve enjoyed this contest as much as we have and are excited to start voting for the grand prize winner soon! We’ll release more details about how you can vote soon!
