Should you be concerned?
D###ed right you should be! Enbridge, Inc. (a Canadian Company) owns and operates a liquid petroleum pipeline system that spans approximately 3,200 miles across North America and has been in operation since the 1950’s. That pipeline now crosses the land of The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and they've decided to kick Enbridge out, so Enbridge wants to build 46 miles of pipeline that skirts the Bad River Band's land and will permanently disturb 185 waterways and 30 acres of wetlands.
Enbridge's poor environmental history means their pipeline will remain a threat to the whole watershed in the area. Read the search results for Enbridge leaks history - if nothing else just read headlines like "since 2002 ... one incident every 20 days on average."
