We have the money and the power to end homelessness and housing insecurity. According to HUD, the United States could end homelessness for $20 billion—that’s less than Trump increased the military budget this year.
John, can you donate to help us take the fight for Housing for All to the senate?
When it comes to housing policy, our federal government should lead the fight to put people over profits.
As Senator, I will fight to repeal the Faircloth Amendment so that our country can build the public housing units we need, and upgrade our public housing buildings to be climate-resilient and carbon-free.
I will support federal investment in affordable housing, not luxury development. I’ll work to end the federal government’s subsidies of vacation homes and mansions.
And I’m fighting for a federal Tenants’ Bill of Rights to end rental discrimination, increase federal funding to enforce the Fair Housing Act, guarantee a good standard of living for tenants, guarantee legal counsel for tenants facing eviction, and ban evictions without just cause.
We can end homelessness—if we choose to put people’s wellbeing over the profits of private developers. Let’s make it happen.
