There are a number of ways to cast your vote in the November 3 election. Many voters prefer to vote with an absentee ballot, that is, filling out a ballot ahead of time. Voting by mail is one way to cast your absentee vote, and it's contact-free! Here's how:

1) Make sure you're registered.
You can check it online or contact your county auditor's office. If you have moved or changed your name or party affiliation, you must update your voter registration, which you can do online. If you're not registered, you can register online or by mail. Learn more.

2) Request that a ballot is mailed to you.
You do this with an absentee ballot request form. You may have received one or more of these ballot request forms in the mail from your county auditor or various organizations. Complete the form – access one to print online or ask your county auditor for one.

Mail the form by the deadline, Saturday, October 24. Be sure to give it plenty of time to arrive at your county auditor's office.

3) Complete the ballot and return it to your county auditor.
Once the county auditor gets your ballot request form, they will mail you an actual ballot. Fill it out completely, being sure to sign it. It must be postmarked by Monday, November 2.

You can also drop off your ballot at the county auditor's office any time until 5 p.m. on Election Day. Or check with your county auditor to see if there are any absentee ballot drop boxes around your community.
