The decision to change the 2020 Annual Meeting didn’t come easy. This time is always one I look forward to. It’s a time we can gather, worship, pray, connect, and see the incredible work happening through the agencies, institutions, and teams of the ABSC. But with uncertain times, comes responsibilities we must uphold no matter the circumstances. In order to protect
the health and safety of Arkansas Baptists, the best decision was to adapt the Annual Meeting to a meeting of the Executive Board of Trustees to carry out essential business matters.
We operate at the ABSC with full transparency, and I want to assure Arkansas Baptists about what will take place. The emergency clause allows the Executive Board to make the essential annual decisions required by the constitution on behalf of the Convention for the year 2021 as a result of the pandemic. The Executive Board will vote on the four essential matters
which are the 2021 budget, trustees, convention officers, and team goals. This is to ensure that the ministries and operations of the ABSC will be able to continue into 2021.
While we aren’t gathering for the Annual Meeting in the traditional sense, we are exploring options to still connect. Stay connected to our social media and website for an announcement soon on what’s to come.
Thank you, Arkansas Baptists, for your continuous generosity, compassion, and understanding during these evolving times. I’ve always said that you’re the best folks in the world, and you continue to uphold that statement even in the midst of change.
