As a child, I remember reading the words of Frederick Douglass: "there is no progress without struggle." That immortal wisdom came from the yearning soul of a man so desperate to see change in his bitterly divided society that he used his time, talent, and treasure to secure the liberation of millions in chattel slavery. Waiting for someone else to act was not an option.

Friend, we cannot afford to wait on someone else to act any longer.

The current leadership in Georgia and in Washington are not concerned with real justice. You see that in the willingness of the U.S. Senate to ram through a Supreme Court Justice even while the voters are already voting. You see that in the courtrooms across America, where there is always a technicality, a lesser charge, a deal—each time, with justice denied. The America that generations since Douglass have fought to secure is now at stake.

The Georgia Blue Project’s mission is to galvanize voters and make sure when they turn out, they vote for Democrats up and down the ticket. We can flip Georgia blue and, by doing so, change the White House, the Senate majority in Washington and even break the Republican stranglehold on the Georgia State Legislature. When we vote all the way down the ballot, we can elect a new cadre of reformers to the local offices from sheriff to district attorney so that we can pass overdue police reform.
