Hi Friend,
This morning I called Don Young to congratulate him on being elected to his 25th term in Congress.
This is not the result we wanted, or what we worked so hard for, and I am disappointed we did not win. This election shows that we remain an incredibly divided state and nation. For those who see things only through the lens of partisanship, this election once again has resulted in divided governments where Republicans, Democrats, and Independents must work together to move us forward.
I am hopeful that we have reached the worst of our divide, and that we are all ready to find common ground and move forward rather than continue to blame the other guys for all our problems. Partisanship is a disease that has infected our entire political system and has already begun to spread into other areas of our lives that shouldn’t be political.
Amidst a global pandemic that took loved ones from our communities and prevented us from coming together face to face, we persevered to spread the word that a brighter future was still possible. We held drive-in rallies, facilitated wellness calls across Alaskan communities, hosted over nineteen informational town halls on issues related to coronavirus, held virtual roundtables with thousands of Alaskans to ensure that every Alaskan knew their voice mattered.
I am incredibly grateful to my creative and talented team of fierce leaders, organizers, doers, and campaigners for such dedication to this movement.
I thank my team, my supporters, and especially my family. We ran a great race that we can all be proud of. It is now time for all of us to come together to address the huge issues we face today starting with coronavirus, please watch my address below.

Stay safe and keep believing in better.
Gratefully,
Alyse
