The CARES Act encourages individuals to increase their giving this year. Donors who take the standard deduction on a personal tax return can deduct up to $300 from their income (on top of the standard deduction) for cash gifts made to public charities in 2020. If you itemize your deductions you can now deduct up to 100% of adjusted gross income (AGI) in 2020.
