Since 2017, a travesty of justice has unfolded. The Corfman case is a prime example:
First, my husband is being sued in Montgomery, Alabama. Neither party in the case resides in Montgomery. The “alleged event”, which never occurred, was said to have occurred in Etowah County, where the parties do reside. Witnesses to the character of Leigh Corfman and the reputation of my husband live in Etowah County. Thus, the case is being pursued in the wrong venue. This seems to be because the liberal judge in Montgomery is adverse to my husband and was selected by my husband’s former opponents on the Supreme Court to sit on the case for two years without ruling on our motion for summary judgment/dismissal.
Second, my husband is being sued for denying false allegations. This has never been the basis of a lawsuit before (e.g. there is no “cause of action”). One can sue for damages if one has been falsely accused (e.g. my husband could and is suing Leigh Corfman for her lies defaming his character), but denying the false accusations of another is legal and not grounds for a lawsuit. Thus, the proceeding is backwards. This seems to be because our legitimate suit against Corfman and other conspirators (in the proper Etowah County venue) was put on “administrative hold” until the Montgomery judge moves on this case, draining finances from both ends.
This is why your support is critical to our mission. Will you continue to help us clear my husband's good name with a donation of $10, $25, $50, or $100?
