Have you ever wanted to tell the Government exactly what you think it should be doing for climate action? Well they’ve just launched a public consultation on this very issue! And we’re running a series of workshops to help you make your submission to this consultation.

The Government’s climate consultation is really important because it will form the basis of the next Climate Action Plan. It’s crucial that as many people as possible fill it out. But here’s the thing, we don’t think the Government has given people enough support to fill out the consultation. We don’t like the way some of the questions are phrased and we think that the consultation puts the pressure on individuals like you and me to take action instead of governments and big corporations.

We need to tell the Government what we really want, not what they want to hear!

That’s why we’ve brought together some of the leading thinkers on climate solutions in Ireland for some practical workshops to help us fill out this consultation together.

We know that things are always easier when we learn and work together. That’s why we think these workshops will be really great! Each workshop will focus on a different topic, Electricity, Buildings & Homes, Just Transition, Agriculture, Public Participation and Transport.

Workshops will start with a short panel of speakers who will outline some key issues on each topic. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to go into a breakout room with a leading thinker to dig deeper into issues, ask questions and lend your own expertise. This should give everyone the knowledge and confidence to submit to the consultation. We’ll have note takers in each breakout room and we’ll send all the notes to you afterwards with further information to support your consultation submission.

The first workshop takes place on Tuesday 20th April - from 6pm to 7.30pm. You can fill out this consultation as an individual or as a group, so bring along your friends, family or members of a group you are part of.

This is a climate consultation - it will affect us all so it’s crucial that everyone’s voice is heard. Now is your chance to speak out!
