We'll look at agriculture tomorrow evening No images? Click here Dear friend, Last week we hosted 180 people in a workshop that explored the future of electricity in Ireland - and what we want to tell the Government to do about it. This week we are hosting our second workshop on agriculture and climate action. These are all part of our workshop series to support you to fill out the Government’s consultation on the next Climate Action Plan. You can sign up for the series here Tomorrow’s workshop is especially exciting because we will be helping to launch a new report co-authored by Stop Climate Chaos, the Environmental Pillar and Sustainable Water Network Ireland. The report is called “Towards a New Agricultural and Food Policy for Ireland” and makes recommendations to drive down agriculture emissions, restore our biodiversity and water, and revitalise rural and farming communities. Tomorrow’s workshop is on agriculture. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be running more workshops that focus on a different topic each time. You'll hear some top-line suggestions on what to include in your submission on that topic. You will then get the opportunity to choose a breakout room to dig deep into the issues with a leading thinker, to ask questions and to share your expertise with others. After each workshop we will provide you with notes from the event to help you further with the submission. The workshops will be held on the following dates and times:
You can join as many or as few as you like. You just need to sign up once to be kept in the loop. Each week during this series we’ll send you an email with information on the next webinar - and a Zoom link you can use to join it. We hope to see you tomorrow or at a workshop over the next few weeks. Sadhbh Stop Climate Chaos Policy Coordinator P.S. The next week or two is a crucial period for the Climate Bill as TDs decide on final changes before it is passed into law. You can take our new e-action about the Bill here - to ask your TDs to act now to improve the Climate Bill and get it passed. Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition of civil society organizations campaigning to ensure Ireland does its fair share to tackle the causes and consequences of climate change. |
