I wish I had better news to share with you today, but the call that our team just finished is deeply troubling. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), who has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, is running misleading Facebook ads against me.

FAIR wants nothing less than a return to separating families at the border and putting kids in cages to achieve their immoral, white supremacist goals. Their deep pockets are full of dark money, which they're already spending at the same pace as the corporate-backed super PACs that are also trying to buy my seat. FAIR's ad has already played up to half a million times in NJ-03.

Transparently, I'm hoping that you can help us correct the record and expose this hate group for what they are. As the son of immigrants, I will be forever grateful for the opportunities and freedoms that our great nation has afforded to me and my family. Protecting those freedoms and growing those opportunities is what's always called me to a career in public service. That's the story that NJ-03 voters need to hear right now -- not this hate group's racist dog whistles.

We all need to come together and move forward, but FAIR's atrocious ad seeks to tear us apart and turn back the clock instead. We've come too far to let these hate groups and dark-money PACs drown us out online, and grassroots supporters like you have always fueled our progress.
