Kia ora John,

This week, we’ve rolled out a number of changes that will support New Zealanders and their families as we move forward with our COVID recovery and rebuild.

These changes include making it easier for sole parents and people with disabilities to study for careers by expanding the Training Incentive Allowance and increasing main benefits to put more money into families’ pockets. We’re ensuring private rental properties are warm and dry with our Healthy Homes Standards, and we’ve delivered on our promise to better protect security guards’ pay and working conditions. We’ve also made it cheaper for Kiwi families to buy electric vehicles with our Clean Car Discount, and we’re celebrating one year of free apprenticeships.

We know these policies will make a real difference for people across the country – and if you’re one of them, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for people to share with us how initiatives like free trades training, the Training Incentive Allowance, this week’s benefits increase and our Healthy Homes Standards have benefited them and their whānau. We’ll be sharing some of these stories across our social media and digital channels to highlight how Labour’s continuing to work to improve the wellbeing of all New Zealanders.

If you’ve benefited from this week’s changes (or any of Labour’s other policies!) and you’d be happy to share your story online, get in touch to let us know how. <[link removed]>

SHARE YOUR STORY <[link removed]>This week’s changes are just part of our ongoing work to secure our recovery. We’re making sure that, as we rebuild our economy, we’re also tackling long-term challenges like child poverty, housing and climate change, so together, we can come out of COVID stronger than ever. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about all the positive changes that kicked in on 1 July, you can find out more here <[link removed]>.
