** THE BEAR OF BAD NEWS
------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning!

Koppany is out today, so here to greet you this wonderful Friday is the overly sarcastic Robin to his Batman! You’ll likely know me better as the messenger you get to shoot this week as I deliver the news.

For those parents who just want their children to sleep for an extra thirty minutes, California has given you Christmas in October. This week, California became the first state in the nation to declare ([link removed]) that middle school and high school students will not be starting their mandatory classes until at least 8:00 am.

Not to be the bear of bad news, but California also is forging ahead ([link removed]) with bills establishing the ability for employers and schools to seek gun restraining orders. Apparently your right to bear arms (so many bear puns in one paragraph!) are only constitutional if someone else doesn’t complain about them.

We've barely had time to mourn over the loss of the gig economy and the proponents of the AB-5 bill are still not satisfied ([link removed]) . The city of Los Angeles has announced they will be looking into a $30 minimum wage for Uber and Lyft drivers. Irony alert: the raise is to cover the rising expenses of driving like gas!

This isn’t the only place that the government is trying to get companies to shell out the cash. If you aren’t getting this email due to the blackouts, Gov. Newsom wants to give your family a whole hundred dollars! Correction: Gavin wants PG&E to pay ([link removed]) one hundred dollars to each customer affected by the blackouts. Welcome to the leftist playbook – someone else’s pocketbook.

The rising costs of living in California has been one of the major factors in the prevalence of homelessness. CPC fellow Edward Ring discusses the major problems and solutions of the LA homeless epidemic here ([link removed]) . He even paid a visit to the Epoch Times ([link removed]) and was interviewed by Tucker Carlson on Fox News! His Fox News segment begins at 29:15 ([link removed]) .

For those that weren’t uncomfortable enough after finally seeing the Joker, CPC’s contributor Larry Sand notes the team up of two national super villains: the National Educators Association and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Read Larry’s article here ([link removed]) .

Upcoming Events:

A Reagan Forum and Book Signing with Dr. Wilfred McClay
Dr. Wilfred McClay, the Ronald Reagan Professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine, will visit the Reagan Presidential Library to discuss “Recovering the American Story: Consciousness and the American Past” on November 15. The event is free and begins at 11 am. For more information, and to reserve your spot, click here ([link removed]) .

If you have items for events anywhere in the state, please send them to me!

As always, if you’d like to join our movement to save California, we invite you to support us. Click here to donate to CPC ([link removed]) .
