Dear John,

The number of people who are paid to advocate, campaign and organise for climate action in Ireland is small. Every job in this field matters - and makes an important contribution to the climate movement. Making it crucial for us to find good candidates for every climate job that is advertised...

Friends of the Earth is now recruiting a Climate Policy Coordinator [[link removed]] and a Network Development Coordinator [[link removed]], both of whom will play important roles in supporting the Stop Climate Chaos coalition. Could one of these roles be the perfect job for you? Or could you tap into your networks to help these job adverts reach a broad and diverse range of people?

Only got a few seconds? Could you share the job adverts on Twitter here [[link removed]], Instagram here [[link removed]] and Facebook here [[link removed]].

The Climate Policy Coordinator [[link removed]] will lead our climate policy analysis and advocacy work. They will play a key role in driving policy development and advocacy work in support of faster and fairer climate action. It’s an exciting time to take up this role, as the Climate Law comes into force and we work to influence the first set of 5 year carbon budgets and the Climate Action Plan. With the COP26 UN Climate talks taking place in Glasgow this November, there’s lots happening on the international stage too!

The Network Development Coordinator [[link removed]] will work to support the growing national network of climate action groups and activists, working on environmental and social justice issues, particularly the One Future local climate action groups and the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition.

Applications for both positions can be made by sending your CV (2 pages max) and a one page cover letter to [email protected] by 23.59 on Wednesday 1st September 2021. Please include the role title in the subject of your email.

Please do share these jobs with anyone who might be interested.

With thanks for all you do,

Oisín

P.S. We know that this week’s IPCC report on climate change has left a lot of people itching to take action on the climate crisis. Joining a local One Future climate action group is a great way to start acting on climate change - and to meet other people from your local area who share your concern about the crisis. You can sign up to join a local group here [[link removed]] - you might also like to share this link [[link removed]] with friends who are looking to take action.

Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition of civil society organizations campaigning to ensure Ireland does its fair share to tackle the causes and consequences of climate change.
