John,
Our democracy cannot wait. We must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
[link removed] [[link removed]]Alliance Network organizations are fighting for a more just and accessible democracy every day. From fighting voter suppression efforts to leading on landmark legislation to expand voting access, youth-led organizations are building a democracy done right. But the threat to our democracy is even bigger than what local youth organizing can solve alone. We need federal action by our elected leaders to support the work that has been happening in local communities for years. Right now, this looks like passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
The John Lewis Voting Rights Act would restore critical provisions of the Voting Rights Act and protect the rights for voters everywhere—but especially voters of color. The House of Representatives are planning on voting on this vital piece of legislation this week.
